INTRO: If music can be called sacred, then it must exalt the
spirit, heal the psyche and focus the mind (to some degree) on
the eternal. And it must do this while immersed in the heartache,
joy and imperfection of the human panorama.
Each year during the holiday season, something deep in the
human spirit reaches out through all the chaos and compromise of
our world, in search of images of a more perfect place. In the
words of E.C. LE GUIN, "Since time out of mind, singing has been
principal to the observation of this sacred and crucial time;
it celebrates, exhorts, reflects; in it we can find an outlet
or a retreat."
On this transmission of Hearts of Space, a journey in the
eternal spaces of sacred music called VOX SUBLIMAE (sublime voices).
